I just made it look like it did so that this is the first post on my blog!
So like I said, my name is Becky.
From a young age I can remember using music to express myself. As generally I am quite a shy person, and also one of those people who thinks of the most perfect thing to say after the moment has passed and it's too late to do anything about it when it comes to me, I usually resort to expressing myself it into song lyrics.
Though I have never 'expressed myself' to anyone beyond my 10 bedroom walls (my room is a funny shape).
The earliest song I can remember writing was was called "Yeah" and I believe I was around 7 years old (circa. 2001). Of course it had the words "baby" and "ohh" in it about 37 times each, but what can I say?
Blame Britney.
As I've gotten older, my obsession with music has just gotten bigger.
In 2004 the airing of the TV Show "Unfabulous" saw me really start writing proper songs. The influence upon me from the great Addie Singer inspired me to eventually in December 2007 buy my first guitar.
My lessons began in January 2008, and in which I met a girl who has been one of my best friends ever since. Fate?
In the summer of 2008 I heard my favourite song of all time on the radio for the first time. Love Story by Taylor Swift. Discovering Taylor in 2008, gave me a whole album (and other separate singles) to learn and love. Taylor Swift is the biggest influence on my song writing.
I am a Swiftie.
I may only be 17 years old (and 2 weeks exactly at the time of writing this) and I may never have had a real boyfriend before but I've had crushes, I've had rejection and I've done the rejecting, I've had moments in my life where I've felt real love and believe it or not, I've been heartbroken. Twice.
Which is plenty to write songs about!
I know no one will probably ever read this, but this is mainly for my own benefit anyway.
I made this for the same reason I make vlogs, and have a Facebook and Twitter.
I want to be able to look back at them when I'm 80.
I've only really ever had crushes on 4 people (excluding celebrities) so the songs overlap with story lines frequently!
What've I learnt from these crushes?
That I like the tall, dark, and handsome guys.
Except my new crush...he's ginger.
It confuses me so much.
